This morning I’d like to talk about an all-inclusive food and recipe delivery service called HelloFresh. JSF member “Banditfist” recently hooked me up with an invite to HelloFresh (thanks, Mark!), and yesterday I went ahead and signed up for my first box.

The way the service works is really simple. Each week you’ll receive all-new healthy and creative recipes (with photographs and step-by-step instructions), along with all the farm-fresh ingredients required to make each recipe. About the only thing you’ll need to have on hand is salt, pepper and any oils that might be required. Everything else is included.

You can choose from three different types of boxes: the classic box (for omnivores), the veggie box (for vegetarians), and the family box. Depending on the box you choose, you can select from 3-5 complete meals per week, up to 4 people per meal. The cost for each meal per person is less than 10 bucks. You can pause/skip weeks at any time, and doing so only takes a couple of seconds.

The whole process is explained in full here.

I decided to go with the vegetarian box, and on Monday I’ll be receiving the following:

Tomato Tagliatelle with Asparagus, Fresh Basil, and Parmesan

Those look incredible to me! I’m looking forward to next week.

Complete nutritional data is included with each recipe, and these should fit right into my cutting diet caloric requirements (I may cut down or even eliminate the cheese, however).

You’re paying a small premium to have all the ingredients selected, portioned and delivered to your door (there’s no extra charge for delivery), but it’s really not that much more than you’d pay at the store. The cost is certainly less than what you’d pay to go out to eat. This service seems perfect for those who live busy lives, but still want to prepare healthy meals for their family at home.

I looked through some of the past recipes, and I was really impressed. You won’t be bored, each week is different.

If you’re interested in trying HelloFresh, I’ve got a coupon code (new customers only) that will save you $40.00 on your first box: GV6KH9. With the coupon code you’re only looking at around $20 for 6 full meals. Definitely worth trying out, especially at that price. You can view next week’s boxes by selecting “Next Week” from the “Our Recipes” main menu item. Then, just add the box you want to your cart, select a delivery date and checkout. Be sure to use Promo Code GV6KH9 at checkout to save $40.

I’ll post some more thoughts next week after I prepare some of the meals.
